Empower Your Childcare Team: Virtual Training for Modern Apprenticeship in Social Services (Children and Young People)

January 26, 2024

Do you have staff that could enhance their childcare career through a Modern Apprenticeship? We’re pleased to announce that we are holding virtual training session in March for childcare professionals interested in completing our Modern Apprenticeship programme in Social Services (Children and Young People).

Our Readiness for Assessment training is a preparation session designed especially for childcare professionals aged 16-24 in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. During the 2-hour session, we will go through everything they need to know about Aberlour Futures’ Modern Apprenticeship in Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF 7 (level 3).

The training programme aims to ensure that potential Modern Apprenticeship trainees have the skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary before starting a Modern Apprenticeship and gives an insight into what is required to gain the award

The topics covered will include expectations for apprentices, implementing the Health and Social Care Standards, and their role and responsibilities.

Feedback from previous participants has been extremely positive. One learner shared:

“I found it to be very informative and it gave me a good idea of what to expect for the course.”

Another said, “I really enjoyed the training. I found it really beneficial and interesting. I also liked being on the call with other nursery workers who I could hear their views and inputs from.”

The virtual training session will take place via Microsoft Teams on Saturday 2nd March 2024 from 10am – 12pm. Candidates must be aged between 16-24 and employed in a childcare setting in Aberdeen City or Aberdeenshire.
