Rocking Horse Nursery Refresh Child Protection Knowledge

Aberlour Futures recently delivered a comprehensive face-to-face training session for the staff at Rocking Horse Nursery in Aberdeen. The session aimed to refresh and update the participants’ understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues, legislation, policies, procedures, and best practices relevant to their roles in working with children and young people.

We recapped the “Getting it Right for Every Child” framework to support children’s safety and wellbeing.  Looked at the importance of chronologies in safeguarding children and learned how to create and maintain accurate records that capture a child’s history, including any “significant events” that may require intervention.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants appreciating the interactive and engaging format of the session. Some of the comments included:

• “I enjoyed the group work tasks. It helped concentration levels during the PowerPoint presentation.”
• “Excellent Training, I will use this to continue building awareness and sharing knowledge around child protection.”
