Mind Mapping with Children

Course Description

This workshop will equip participants with the skills and knowledge to use mind maps as a fun and engaging tool for children of all ages.

Using mind maps with  children as visual tools to help them express what they experience and see in their environment, even if they lack the words. By creating child-friendly mind maps helps engage young learners in exploring their interests and showing knowledge and understanding in the world around them.

Mind maps allow children to participate and interact in their own way to give their views, ideas and opinions so promote their rights to be included which meets with many of the best practice guidance documents for the sector.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain the benefits of using mind maps with children, highlighting their ability to tap into their knowledge and understanding and explore and express their likes, preferences, and ideas about various topics.
  • Describe how mind maps can boost children's self-confidence and self-esteem by recognising their contributions in a visually appealing and age-appropriate way.
  • Apply mind maps to support active planning with children based on their interests and ideas to promote their rights and meet best practice guidance documents.
