Learning with Talking Tubs & Bags

Course Description

This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to utilise "talking boxes, tubs, and bags" as a learning tool for children.

We look at the ways to use talking boxes, tubs and bags as a way to help develop children’s confidence using  familiar as well as new and different items and how we use ‘Talking tubs’ help children to make connections with their experiences and the world around them.

We discuss how ‘talking boxes, tubs and bags of discovery’ are a good way of supporting children to build vocabulary and develop language skills as well as boosting children’s confidence and support children who may have listening, speech and language challenges.

We also look at links to the national guidance documents which refer to ‘listening to the child and allowing them to explore and be active learners.
