We'll explore key concepts like attachment, play, and transitions, all with the goal of giving you practical tools to support childrens individual needs and build their resilience and well-being.

For staff working in Early Years, and or with school age children as well parents/carers looking for information and guidance on how children develop.

Learning Outcomes:

  • An understanding of attachment theory and how this affects children’s holistic development from emotions to social skills.
  • A deeper perspective on child development theorists, how you can learn from their research and meet children’s individual needs.
  • Through exploration of play theorists, you will learn how to help children understand the world around them through a better understanding of the play cycle and how to best use play spaces to meet children’s changing needs and preferences.
  • An understanding of transitions and why you should place emphasis on improving transitions using key features of positive transitions practice.
