Unleashing creativity and building confidence!

We recently hosted another successful training day in Aberdeen, empowering attendees with the tools and inspiration to unleash children’s creativity and provide engaging play experiences both indoors and outdoors.

Key Highlights:

• Building Confidence and Skills: Participants learned practical techniques to foster children’s creativity and self-expression through visual arts, using materials like charcoals, pastels, music, and movement.
• Outdoor Learning Adventures: We explored cost-effective ways to incorporate numeracy and literacy into outdoor play using natural loose parts. Attendees discovered fun and engaging activities that can be easily implemented in various settings.

The workshop was enthusiastically received by staff from nurseries, schools, out-of-school care, and our Foundation and Modern Apprenticeship students. Participants appreciated the opportunity for face-to-face training and the practical, adaptable ideas shared.

One participant commented: “It was great to learn how to apply and adapt simple ideas into creative and fun learning activities.”

Another said, “I learned how to engage with the children in different ways, and that most of the time kids love something simple.”

By attending Aberlour Futures Workshop, participants gained valuable insights and skills to enhance their ability to provide enriching and stimulating learning experiences for children.  It was great to hear that they are already planning how to use the ideas shared in their day-to-day work.
